If your child walks to school, we encourage you to walk with your child to and from school. Please continually remind your child of the basic safety rules. Supervision for students begins at the start of the school day and includes bus rides. This policy requires that whenever students leave the building or grounds (for example, when families need to take children out of school for appointments or due to illness) families must sign their child out at the school office.Īdditionally, families and visitors entering the school building for any reason must sign in at the office and obtain a visitor badge to wear for the remainder of their stay. Our schools operate under a “closed campus” policy. After completing the online enrollment, the school will contact you to complete the process. If you are unable to provide these documents, please call the school office for assistance. To complete the enrollment process, you will be asked to provide proof of address, proof of the student’s address, an immunization record, and any educational support documents you have. If you are hoping to have your child attend a school outside of their boundary, you will need to enroll in your home boundary school first before applying for a transfer. Children wanting early entrance into kindergarten will be accepted as space allows. We encourage families to make the best choice regarding their student’s readiness for kindergarten. If your child turns 5 years old between September 1 and 15, you may apply for early entrance. Immunizations are available through private physicians, clinics, and the Benton County Health Department (54) in Corvallis.Īll children who turn 5 on or before September 1 can enroll at their boundary school for the next school year. Required immunizations are: 5 Diphtheria/Tetanus/Pertussis (DTaP), 4 Polio,1 Varicella (chickenpox),2 Measles,1 Mumps, 1 Rubella, 3 Hepatitis B, 2 Hepatitis A. Your student may not begin school without documentation that they meet the requirements. Oregon state law requires immunizations for enrollment in the Corvallis School District and must be documented. We ask all families to join with us and make regular attendance at a school an expectation and priority. In elementary school, parents and guardians can reinforce the habits of good attendance and arriving at school on time. Regular attendance is strongly connected to success in school.
